Who I am and why you should care:

Hello, I’m Karisma, a master of all trades. I’m a notably published poet/writer (in six anthologies including a New York Times bestseller, six journals, a textbook, and have won an SF poetry contest and an SF poetry fellowship), a former model (credits include Barneys, Salesforce, SOMA Magazine, Mia Beauty, fine artist John Wentz, and Project Runway designer Emily Payne), a former astrologer, a former Mindfulness teacher and Integral Coach, and a financially savvy soul (studied independently and became a board treasurer and a full-time writer and editor for a fintech software and stock trading education company for a couple of years).

Despite having been raised on welfare and experiencing homelessness as a teenager, I paid off my student loans in my early 30s and built up to what is now a quarter of a million dollar net worth. I’m an elder millennial. Money matters very much but it is not my driving force.

I’ve tried on many spiritual disciplines and ultimately came to connect with a non-religious God after having a two-hour experience where I felt completely made of love, compassion, and free of judgment. I was alive and not on drugs. Many years later, at age 39, I suffered a psychotic episode (something that runs in my family), which took about a year of my life to recover from. I was at the absolute brink and my compassion for humanity was tested. The voices in my head told me I had to burn a house down with innocent people inside or be killed myself, and I chose to wait to be killed. Thankfully, soon after that, I was put on medication (which was tapered down to the lowest dose), and fully recovered, and haven’t had any symptoms for over three years now. For many reasons, I feel more connected, secure, and at peace than I’ve ever been so far in life. Annnd…
